A surprise from Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic will arrive just in time for Christmas this year.
On December 23, Star Wars Kids will release a new short film, The Gingerbread Death Star Trench Run, in which the iconic trench flying scene from A New Hope is reimagined and recreated entirely from gingerbread cookies.
The film was co-created by ILM artist Landis Fields, who used his love of reality baking shows to create this short film. “We collect a lot of reference material and use devices to capture things in 3D, and then we bring it into the computer to compare it to what we create,” Fields told StarWars.com. “It adds an extra layer of verisimilitude, charm and magic.”
Co-founder of the Canadian Arcanaut Studios Casey Hudson commented on the release timing of the recently announced story-driven role-playing action game Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic on his microblog.
Recall that Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic (FotOR) was presented as part of The Game Awards 2025 ceremony. The announcement was accompanied by a non-gameplay trailer and a message that the game is in an early stage of development.
Against the background of the presentation, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier expressed the idea that, given the production status, FotOR will have to wait until 2030 at best, and allowed the project to be released on the yet unannounced PS7.
Before fans had time to get upset, Hudson came out with a refutation of Schreier's words: "Don't worry about the rumors [about the release] not earlier than 2030 year. The game will be released before then. I’m not getting any younger!”
GamesVoice studio announced the release of version 1.3 of the Russian dubbing for STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor. An update with the ironic code name “Really?” has become the most complete to date and actually brings the localization to a complete form.
The main change is that replicas of all remaining opponents have been added, which is why the game world has become noticeably more alive and holistic. The team also synchronized the subtitles with the voice-overs, eliminating discrepancies that could disrupt immersion. After installing the update, the project can be completed entirely in Russian without noticeable gaps in the dialogues.
More than 100 actors took part in the creation of the voice acting, which makes it one of the largest GamesVoice projects in the entire existence of the studio. The developers remind you that the work on localizations is supported by the community: those who wish can help by raising funds for the dubbing of the GTA: San Andreas radio station or sign up for a paid subscription.
STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor continues the story of Cal Kestis in the format of a large-scale third-person action adventure, and now the path of the Jedi has become even more accessible to Russian-speaking players.

There has been no new information for a long time about the rethinking of the first KOTOR, transferred to the development of Saber. However, recent insider information points to the possibility that the project will be presented at the upcoming The Game Awards 2025, but this remains just a rumor at the moment.
The current status of the game, known under the code name Juliet, is unknown - it could be either “frozen” or cancelled. The remake was also supposed to include cut content. Yes, the same one that was promised to be added to KOTOR 2 for Switch.
Vice President of Lucasfilm Games Douglas Reilly subsequently noted that the information from the documents is pure truth, but did not specify the reasons for the suspension of work on the project.
The release date for Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic seems very far away, at least according to journalist Jason Schreier, who spoke on the matter to shed light on the situation and gauge fan expectations.
Last night's biggest surprise was Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, a new project led by Casey Hudson, who also worked on KOTOR and Anthem. This is exciting news for many... but Lucasfilm has made it clear that the studio was founded this year, meaning a 2030 release is a conservative estimate. Perhaps it will be a game for PlayStation 7.
Unfortunately, the timeline stated by Jason Schreier is quite plausible for a project of this type and actually represents a best-case scenario, with a path uncomplicated by potential development problems.
The cinematic trailer released has nothing to do with the game itself, and no information was provided about a possible release date, even remotely reminiscent of it: all this suggests that the project has just begun and its implementation will take a long time.
The next big release in the Star Wars franchise could beMaul: Shadow Lord. The trailer's readiness hints at this.
