The series does a good job of deepening our understanding of Maul without rehabilitating him, mostly through a series of fascinating philosophical conversations about the Jedi, the Sith, and the state of the galaxy. The series captures the drama and tone ofAndorwhile drawing on the mysticism of the Force and the franchise's eternal theme of masters and apprentices.
The changes in animation style bring an intensity and aggression that matches the tone of the series and the psychology of the main character. Devon Izara and Brander Lawsen are compelling additions to theStar Warsgalaxy. It's clear why a second season was greenlighted so early.This is a huge victory for those who have loved Maul since 1999.
