Marvel unveils Star Wars: Rogue One prequel about Andor
Apr 07, 2026Ten years ago, the filmRogue One: A Star Wars Story. Storiesintroduced a group of heroes who stole the plans for the Death Star and laid the groundwork for the victory of the Resistance.
Lucasfilm and Marvel Comics decided to celebrate the film's anniversary by releasing a series of five comics. They will focus on key characters, starting with Cassian Andor, who later became the main character of the prequel series.
New stories will unfold immediately before the events of the film, revealing previously untold backstories. Yes, this is again a prequel to a prequel.

Details Star Wars: Rogue One - Cassian Andor
Benjamin Percy spoke about the first release of the line. According to him, he tried to convey the spirit of "Rogue One", which was different from previous projects in the universe.
When we first meet Cassian Andor, he is murdering Tivik, a Rebel informant, in cold blood. I remember looking around in the cinema because I couldn't believe my eyes. That moment on the Ring of Kafrena really made me realize how different this movie was going to be.
I knew I wanted to get that right in the first issue because there's a lot going on on the periphery that we don't see. On this project I am working in tandem with the brilliant artist Luke Ross. We bring you the story that led to this unforgettable, character- and franchise-defining moment.
“Get ready for bounty hunters, stormtroopers, Krennic, K2, and a lot at stake for both the Rebels and the Empire,” the author added.
The first issue will be released on May 6, 2026. The last one will be released in September.
