Empire Magazine is celebrating the upcoming release of the The Mandalorian series and the Grogu filmwith a cover story in its new issue. The article features interviews with Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau and Pedro Pascal, the latter of whom talks about how the Din Djarin we see in the new film differs from the character we saw previously.

In the third season finale ofThe Mandalorian, Din Djarin agreed to take on missions for the New Republic, a drastic change from his previous adventures as a lawbreaker and bounty hunter. But Pascal assures fans that his character is still a bounty hunter, albeit with a completely different focus.

“This opens the door for him to continue his best work as a bounty hunter, but working for the benefit of the good guys,”

Pascal spoke at length about Din Djarin's status as a new type of bounty hunter in the film. “A combination of skill and morality. If the first time you meet him, it's just about skill, beskar and the [Mandalorian] Creed,” Pascal explained. "Through his relationship with Grogu, there is an expansion of his heart and a lifting of his armor, so to speak, which forces him to fight for what he believes is right."
