Enthusiasts are developing a VR version of KOTOR - the prologue is already playable

While the official remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remains without news, enthusiasts have taken up the matter themselves. One of the Reddit users under the nickname BearableBastard is developing a VR version of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic using the Unity engine - and has already made the prologue playable.
The lightsaber now behaves differently: the reflection of shots depends on the player's reaction, and not on the hidden characteristics of the character. In addition, the demo shows the destruction of environmental objects - for example, boxes.
According to the author, the main problem at the current stage is the correct operation of animations and NPC models so that they do not become deformed in battle.
Recall that the KOTOR remake was announced back in 2021, but since then almost nothing has been reported about the project. Meanwhile, other projects in the Star Wars universe are presented: a Burnout-style race with the subtitle Galactic Racer, which promises intense races with high stakes, and the spiritual successor to Knights of the Old Republic with the authors of the original - Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic.
