Fan version of Star Wars turned into a full-fledged anime film with a Japanese pop song in the credits

Jan 09, 2026

Fans have been creating anime and Star Wars mash-ups for years. And some of them turn out just great. They are so good that Lucasfilm released a full-fledged anime, Star Wars: Visions, which is already preparing for the release of its second season. But that doesn't stop fans from still creating their own Star Wars anime mashups. Via Comic BookOpens In A New Tab, we learned about one fan montage from TikTok user @random_rogue26 that uses clips from the animated series Galaxy of Adventures. They edited them together with a song by Japanese pop group Sunrise Skater Kids, giving the video a classic anime theme. You can watch it below:

The 2018 series of animated shorts Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures wouldn't exactly be called "anime," but they clearly took inspiration from it. He took iconic moments from all three Star Wars trilogies and gave them a hyper-kinetic look.

Think: “What if the Jedi were on Dragon Ball Z?” Combined with Japanese pop music, it's like a lost 90s anime show. The clips are mostly moments from the original trilogy, with some moments from the prequels thrown in for good measure. Sorry Rey, Finn and Poe fans, but none of the characters from the sequel trilogy are included in this version.

We are completely opposed to any of the original Star Wars films being remade in live-action format. We even curse the very idea. But it makes us want to see some kind of animated version. Maybe in the form of a new Disney+ series? We're thinking of something that takes familiar moments from the Skywalker saga and expands and exaggerates them in a way that only animation can. The Galaxy of Adventures shorts were a good start, but we wouldn't mind something longer. In the meantime, we'll watch this funny fan video one or ten more times.
