All colors of lightsabers in Star Wars: rating and who used them
Jan 01, 2026The two most important factions in Star Wars are the Jedi and the Sith. Opposite sides of the same coin, engaged in an eternal struggle. However, at the beginning of the prequels, this is not such a rivalry, since the Sith have not been seen for a long time.

The Jedi do not sit idly by, serving as peacekeepers throughout the galaxy. Of course, it would be a mistake to go on dangerous missions empty-handed, which is why all members of the Order use a lightsaber.
Because the Jedi do not want anyone to misunderstand them during missions, they use special colors for their blades. The Sith take the opposite approach as they seek to instill fear. At the same time, there are not many blade colors in the canon. Here are all the main ones. And who used them in the movies.
8) Orange
Users:Bailan Skoll and Shin Hachi

Bailan Skoll and Shin Hachi use orange lightsabers in the Ahsoka series while working as mercenaries. It looks less impressive, but its color indicates that the characters are not exactly Sith.
7) White
User:Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka uses several lightsabers, but not because she breaks or drops them. Constantly switching to a different color of the blade reflects the heroine's path as a user of the Force. When she uses white swords, she is one with the Force and does not obey any strict orders.
6) Yellow
Users: Rey Skywalker, Jedi Temple Guardians, Asajj Ventress, Dagan Hera

This color rarely appears in feature films. The Jedi Temple Guardians use this color inThe Clone Warsas does Asajj Ventress.Rey only receives it at the end of the sequel trilogy.
5) Black
Users: Tarre Vizsla, Pre Vizsla, Bo-Katan Kryze, Sabine Wren, Moff Gideon, Darth Maul, Din Djarin

The most mysterious color on this list is that of the Dark Sword. Mandalorian weapons are usually more of a status display, although they are also useful in combat, as Maul and several other wielders have proven.
4) Purple
User:Mace Windu

Samuel L. Jackson never plays ordinary characters - he found a way to stand out even in a galaxy far, far away. The actor decided to give his character a special lightsaber color that embodies his understanding of both the light and dark sides. In general, several other characters have swords of the same color, but Windu is the most famous.
3) Green
Users: Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn, Kit Fisto, Saesee Tiin, Luminara Unduli, Quinlan Vos, Ahsoka Tano, Luke Skywalker, Ezra Bridger

The green lightsaber is more often associated with Jedi Masters. Its bearers are some of the greatest knights of all time, including Yoda. Perhaps that is why it is less common than blue.
2) Red
Users: Darth Sidious, Count Dooku, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Savage Opress, Asajj Ventress, Kylo Ren, Inquisitors

Lightsaber combat doesn't feel like lightsaber combat without red (aside from Anakin's fight with Obi-Wan on Mustafar). There is something sinister about the crimson glow. This is especially true at the end of the filmRogue One.Star Wars Tales.
1) Blue
Users: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ki-Adi Mundi, Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Cal Kestis, Luke Skywalker, Rey, Ben Solo

The blue lightsaber is the most iconic in Star Wars, and for good reason. InA New HopeBen Kenobi gives the weapon to Luke, which has a blue glow. A sword of this color is used by other famous Jedi, so it is not surprising that it appears on the cover of almost every film poster in the franchise.
