The director of “The Last Jedi” and “Resurrection of the Dead” said that he connects the tapes
Dec 25, 2025Ryan Johnson told that between the films Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi) andKnives Out: A Knives Out Mystery(Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery) have a “spiritual connection.”
“When I wrote the script for The Last Jedi, and Star Wars has always been something almost religious to me, this film touched on many of my experiences. In addition, shortly before I started working on the painting, my father died, and everything connected with this was constantly on my mind. I think in that sense there really is a connection between the two films.”
In the third part of Knives Out, Benoit Blanc investigates a murder in a church. The film focuses on the themes of faith and death.
The film was released on Netflix on December 12.
